Spiritual & Leadership Development

Growing Leaders

The Kenyan youth are in a defining transition as a result of the dynamic erosion of the traditional cultural and spiritual values. The shifting family values, the aggressive permissiveness, individualism and secularism are not only confusing young minds, but also eroding their moral fiber. MKCF Spiritual & Leadership Program is based on the conviction that Biblical values are foundational in grounding children in a principle centered lifestyle.

The objective of this program is to inculcate spiritual and leadership values in young minds, deepening their faith, strengthening their character and enhancing their leadership skills. Our approach two pronged. We work with partners of like mind to strengthen bible clubs in primary schools and we develop and mentor children in Children of Promise Program.

Over 9000 children are being reached with the word of God through the Bible Clubs, with an average of 70 pupil attendance in the registered schools. We have trained at least two teachers per school on how to reach out to the children in the Bible Clubs. The Headmasters in schools with bible clubs have reported the following results: improved general discipline in their schools. Confidence in children who are members of the club, improved performance in the curriculum subjects and improved self confidence in the children and the children have taken on leadership positions in their schools.

Our Selling Proposition

Early intervention by mentoring primary school going children in the rural areas. (There is a strong presence of organizations seeking to mentor children in high schools but our study shows this is not the case in in primary schools. Yet it is a documented fact that a child’s world view is formed by the time they are 10 years. There are also numerous intervention in the urban centers, and the churches in the cities have programs where children are taught holistic values early , while in the rural areas the programs of this nature need strengthening ) Therefore we have decided to target children between the ages of 6-14 in rural primary schools with a focus on the public ones.
